November 2014 – My Sister’s Closet would like to thank the wonderful K-Kids Club and their club leader, teacher Erin Cerwinski of University Elementary School for their great work to create Christmas garlands out of Christmas lights and used clothing donations supplied by MSC. The lights were part of an upcycling project to teach environmental stewardship by turning outdated or damaged donations into beautiful holiday decorations. K-Kids volunteered at the Holiday Farmer’s Market to sell their creations. We also had some lovely tea bag holders created for us to sell by Ruthie Tucker at Nothing Fancy Ceramics. Between colorful garlands and very well made tea bag holders, My Sister’s Closet was able to raise $228.50 in five hours! Thank you to these amazing community members for raising money to support our organization!!!
