–— OUR MOST URGENT NEED —
To Renovate Our New Home Before our Lease Ends – June 2026!

The Good News -My Sister’s Closet has found a new home!
Our New Challenge – Renovating this new space before our lease ends – June 2026.
Future Address: 1204 W 2nd Street, (Corner of W. 2nd & Patterson), near Rocket’s Convenience Center
This new location will enable us to improve & expand our client intake and training areas. The goal will be to create a more confidential and safe space for women experiencing anxiety due to domestic violence, homelessness, recent incarceration, or substance use, for example.
Some of our improved service areas will include:
-
- A new video presentation training center.
- A client bathroom to help homeless clients clean up before going on an interview.
- Client Children’s Center. Complete with staff and volunteers to help care for kids while moms and grandmothers are with their mentors and advocates, receiving services. This space will be equipped with a rocking chair, a changing station, toys, books, a private nursing area for moms, etc.
- Our parking lot will boast 30 free parking spaces and be located on the bus line, making visiting MSC even more accessible to both clients and supporters!
- Our lease at 414 S College Ave. ends in June 2026. Please consider making a tax-deductible gift to ensure these free services are not interrupted and available for years to come!
The cost to renovate our new location is estimated at $400,000. (approximately 4,200 sq. feet) Our goal is to transform it into our new Re-Sale Boutique, so we are able to move our main funding arm before our lease expires before June 2026.
The third phase of this project will be to add a 4,800 sq. ft. expansion to provide the core services that make up the majority of our free community programming. The quote we have received for the phase #2 portion is roughly $1,000,000. Both spaces combined will total to the same amount of space My Sister’s Closet is currently using (9,400 sq. feet) at the 414 S College Avenue location.
As with our current location, it will serve the needs of clients and, in another area, provide a discounted retail boutique to the public. However, because we will be able to operate with better floor plans, electronics, and infrastructure, this renovation and expansion will increase our ability to serve more women.
The exciting news is that women will benefit from the use of a private entrance, allowing them to receive services with privacy, ensuring their personal dignity and self-respect. Clients will also enjoy improved mentoring areas, job and interview skills training, and client advocacy spaces. There will also be a new client bathroom, a children’s area for women who arrive at their appointments with their children, and a covered drop-off area that will allow supporters to drop off donations, protecting them from the rain, sleet, snow, heat, etc.
The remaining amount of the $2,100,000 budget, $860,000, will be used to pay off the mortgage on the building. We are hoping you can be part of our success!
